Your impact
We are looking for a senior telecommunications engineer who thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative work environment and works closely with clients in the data center market. You will engage in the full design process, from preliminary assessments to final design sign‑off, including structured cabling, wireless, audio‑visual and other low‑voltage systems.
Responsibilities- Lead BIM designers in the preparation of engineering drawings
- Create or modify division 27 specifications
- Conduct site visits
- Review technical documents
- Learn from senior team leaders and be mentored
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Sign and seal telecommunications design packages
- Mentor other team members
- Work with lead engineer/department manager to identify process efficiencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Communications Engineering from an ABET‑accredited college
- Minimum eight years of experience actively designing or leading designs for telecommunications structured cabling systems
- In‑depth knowledge of ANSI/TIA, BICSI and NFPA 70 standards as they relate to telecommunications
- Proficiency with Bluebeam
- Self‑motivation to coordinate with other disciplines, project managers and clients
- Excellent project management skills
- Familiarity with responding to RFPs
- Experience providing quality assurance and checking of telecommunications systems designed by others
- Experience with startup and commissioning of telecommunications systems
- Experience creating a budget for a project
- Experience creating and maintaining a project schedule
Experience identifying and mitigating company risk - PE license; ability to obtain multiple PE licenses
- Four years of telecommunications design experience in data centers
- Experience working on other low‑voltage systems (security, audio/visual, wireless)
- Working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks design software platforms
- Knowledge of telecom infrastructure for controls and security systems
- Experience with CSI or AIA specification writing procedures
- Credential as an RCDD
