WES Tech Sales — Technical Sales Engineer

Location: Missouri & Southern Illinois (preferably based in or near St. Louis, MO)

WES Tech Sales () is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to help drive growth across our semiconductor, electronic component, systems, and services portfolio. This role combines technical acumen with relationship-driven sales, working closely with engineering teams, purchasing organizations, distributors, and suppliers. The ideal candidate is curious, collaborative, and motivated to build long‑term customer success.

About the Role

The Technical Sales Engineer will develop deep product knowledge and apply it to customer applications, helping position WES Tech’s solutions and supplier technologies to maximize value. You will support the full sales cycle—from opportunity identification to technical alignment to closing—where your expertise accelerates business results.

You must be able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences and possess strong sales, communication, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities
  • Achieve assigned sales goals and meet/exceed KPI targets
  • Identify and understand customer system requirements with engineering teams
  • Collaborate with the broader sales team to align solutions with customer needs
  • Prepare, deliver, and refine technical presentations that effectively communicate product value
  • Support product modifications and application development to meet customer technical requirements
  • Partner closely with WES Tech Product Managers and supplier partners to pursue new business with distributors and direct customers
  • Manage sales activities including lead generation, sample requests, pricing negotiations, CRM updates, activity reports, sales forecasting, and business reviews
  • Gather, document, and report customer feedback to help shape sales and marketing strategy
  • Identify opportunities for internal process improvement and communicate recommendations to leadership
  • Train internal team members on technical aspects of WES Tech’s products and solutions
  • Support customer qualification processes and supplier documentation, including PPAP, PCNs, reliability data, or other required materials

Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical field
  • Prior sales experience in the electronics or semiconductor industry
  • Residency in or near St. Louis, MO
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft 365, and Power BI
