Job Summary

St. Cecilia School & Academy is seeking a dedicated and mission‑driven ELL Teacher to support English language learners through targeted instruction and language development. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about working with multilingual students, fostering academic growth, and contributing to a collaborative, faith‑centered school community.

Position Overview

The ELL Teacher will work closely with classroom teachers to provide small‑group and individualized instruction that supports English language acquisition and academic success. Instruction may be delivered through a pull‑out model, push‑in model, or a combination of both, depending on student needs. This educator will play a vital role in helping students develop proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking while building confidence in their academic abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide small‑group and in‑class (push‑in) instruction to English language learners across grade levels.
  • Deliver targeted lessons that reinforce vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing skills, and oral language development.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate language‑support strategies into core academic instruction.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet diverse learning needs and proficiency levels.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of student performance, instructional plans, and progress monitoring.
  • Communicate regularly with teachers, administrators, and families regarding student growth and support needs.
  • Foster a welcoming, culturally responsive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and broader school community events.
Qualifications
  • State teaching certification required; ESL, ELL, or TESOL certification preferred.
  • Experience working with English language learners or multilingual students highly valued.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Enthusiasm for working with students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Ability to effectively teach in both pull‑out and push‑in instructional settings.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
