The Orangeburg County School District is looking for teachers for a new, 4‑week, extended year summer program for elementary school‑aged students who need more academic support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Teachers will build academic skills as well as provide opportunities for social development. We recognize that part of the program will be focused on academics, however, we also see opportunities for fun and creativity.
- Supervise and lead instructional activities that promote academic growth and social interaction among students.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field. - Certification:
Valid South Carolina Teaching Certificate for the required content area and certification in Special Education. - Experience:
3‑5 years of teaching experience (preferred). - Job Requirements:
Language, mathematical, reasoning, and other skills/abilities as detailed below.
Ability to read English and comprehend complex technical language. Ability to write memoranda and correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information in one‑to‑one and small group situations.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to perform basic mathematical calculations with a high degree of accuracy.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense to carry out detailed, but basic, written or oral instructions in English. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
OtherSkills and Abilities
Ability to work collaboratively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with co‑workers, supervisors, staff, students, parents and community. Requires motivation, rapport building, and possible diplomacy.
Physical DemandsFrequently required to walk and stand, bend or twist at the neck and trunk, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally lift up to 10 pounds. Must also use a computer for long periods of time.
Working ConditionsSchool or office environment with limited exposure to environmental conditions. Routine local travel required; occasional overnight travel required. Requires the ability to work under a degree of stress related to duties that require considerable attention and meeting deadlines.
