Preschool Teacher Assistant
The Preschool Teacher Assistant works with children ages 2–4 years old, supporting lead teachers through play-based learning centers in a variety of classroom settings. This role assists with daily classroom activities including learning centers, art projects, outdoor play, and potty training. Staff members supervise children in multiple environments such as classrooms, playgrounds, and the cafeteria. The ideal candidate can effectively manage small groups of up to 10 children while maintaining a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.
Start Date: March 2026
Schedule Options- 7:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. or
- 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- 3–5 days per week with a monthly work schedule
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children, families, and staff
- Support children during meals, outdoor play, and rest periods
- Encourage creativity and participation through art activities and sensory/messy play
- Read stories, sing songs, and promote language development and new vocabulary
- Assist teachers with classroom management and daily routines
- Perform diaper changes and support potty training based on age group
- Monitor children in classrooms, playgrounds, and cafeteria settings
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by sanitizing tables, floors, and activity areas after snacks and projects
- Ability to manage groups of up to 10 young children
- Ability to navigate multiple stairs and playground surfaces
- Ability to sit on the floor and child-sized chairs for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a daily basis
- Must be reliable, patient, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Must complete Protecting God’s Children training and pass a background check
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience working with young children preferred but not required
