Overview
Position Summary
Responsible for managing and directing key academic support projects for the Office of the Provost including the PhD program reviews, academic integrity, oversight of University accreditation, and monitoring, ensuring compliance of educational programming. This role offers guidance and counsel to the Vice Provost for Graduate Education, the Vice Provost for Educational Initiatives, the Provost and the Senior Associate Provost on a variety of issues.
These issues relate to the graduate, professional and undergraduate student experience and university policies across campus, academic integrity, compliance, and Danforth Dean and Provost Unit reviews.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as Provost Office primary contact and responsible to numerous compliance topics:
Graduate tuition postings, University wide reporting related to Graduate Education, including CGS International Grad Admissions and NSF/NIH Survey of Support for graduates in STEM. - Assist Vice Provost and the Doctoral Council to collect, analyze, and visualize graduate student life cycle data, including enrollment, milestones, leaves, and graduation. Build, implement, and manage the graduate program review process and policy, regularly revisit and revise process as needed as review process becomes more and more vigorous. Plan and develop each review, lead the support team, establish and monitor the timeline(s), and ensure evaluation is meeting the initial charge.
- Direct data reporting projects to provide counsel on Graduate Student University policies. Partners with schools to implement policies and to collect school policies. Will serve as departmental liaison to ensure PhD programs in schools are in alignment with university policies. Continually updates administration on current new and changes made to educational regulations, and simultaneously partners with the University Registrar, the Student Financial Aid leadership, and Graduate admissions.
- Manage degree approval process for Doctoral Council review and approval. Partner with schools and University registrar on this process. Maintain and improve degree database, new degree process review and approval (for Provost and Deans), and manage the communications related to these requests.
- Manage team supporting PhD reviews, academic integrity oversight, and compliance topics.
- Serve as academic integrity resource to departments to ensure that all university and graduate school policies are followed. Serve on university-wide committees related to Academic Integrity.
- Collaborate with campus partners through advocacy, leadership, and communication. Skillfully interpret data and advise the administration on decision challenges and opportunities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of WashU systems, including SLATE and Workday.

- Broad understanding of the issues of higher education, assessment, and research methods, and the ability to develop options and make recommendations within a contextual understanding of institutional needs.
