Math Teacher
Miriam School and Learning Center
Status: PRN evening hours, 6‑15 hours per week
Reports to:
Special Education Supervisor
Pay: $43 per hour
Qualifications- Math Certification K‑12, Bachelor's or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field
- Must have a Missouri certification
- Requires a minimum of 3 years teaching experience in special education and/or general education
- Experience in providing educational services to children and/or adolescents who have educational disabilities or learning difficulties
- Ability to use computer and web‑based programs consistently, including Outlook, Word and Excel
- For tutoring clients, provide appropriate treatment based upon a child's academic assessment and track progress toward the student's goals
- Maintain an online web‑based account for progress toward goals following each tutoring session
- Submit billing in a timely manner
- Any other duties as specified by the supervisor
- Knowledge of teaching methods, practices and techniques, focusing on conceptual understanding, application (algebra, geometry, functions) and problem‑solving
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction based on students' learning styles
- Knowledge of the foundations of math processes and instruction
- Knowledge of child development theories, development stages and needs
- Knowledge of current trends, theories and technologies pertaining to learning and instruction
- Knowledge of instructional technologies and software, equipment, tools and devices used to present instruction, document assessments and student progress
- Planning and developing lesson plans for each unique learner
- Presenting materials and concepts in an understandable and clear manner
- Assessing and evaluating student performance and needs
- Ability to use a wide range of instructional practices, approaches, methods, and curriculum materials to support math instruction
- Ability to work collaboratively with parents, students, staff and other educational professionals over instructional needs of the student

Through teacher training and consultation services, we help schools implement best practices when serving students with special needs, fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments. Our special educational staffing division fills vacancies in schools; ensuring students receive vital interventions. Comprehensive evaluation services provide an economical solution to test IDEA eligible students or to obtain medical diagnoses and recommendations.
