Founded in 2004 as “Cultural Leadership,” LEAD STL is a St. Louis–based nonprofit empowering youth to build empathy, bridge divides, and lead social change.
Centered in the interconnected histories of Black and Jewish communities, LEAD STL uses immersive learning experiences, community-based education, and facilitated dialogue to help students explore identity, understand systems of oppression, and develop the confidence to stand up, speak out, and take action for change. Position SummaryThe Program Operations & Alumni Engagement Manager oversees the logistics, coordination, and participant experience across all LEAD STL programs, including the Cultural Leadership Fellowship, Emerging Changemakers, Camp LEAD, and School & Community Partnerships. This role ensures that programs are well-organized, safe, and accessible while strengthening engagement with students, families, alumni, and community partners.
The Manager plays a central role in operations and logistics, trip and event coordination, family engagement, student recruitment, and alumni connection, while also supporting facilitation as needed.
Responsibilities- Coordinate logistics and operations for programs, retreats, and immersive experiences.
- Support student recruitment, enrollment, and family communication.
- Assist with travel planning, documentation, and on-site program support.
- Engage families, alumni, and volunteers across programs and events.
- Collaborate with staff and facilitators to ensure high-quality program delivery.
- Commitment to social justice, youth leadership, education, and equity-centered education
- Strong organizational and logistics management skills
- Experience coordinating events, travel, or multi-day programs
- Ability to manage multiple timelines simultaneously
- Strong communication, organization, collaboration skills and relationship-building abilities
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Criminal and child abuse background checks are required if hired
- Bachelor’s degree required (B.A. or B.S.); degrees in education, social work, public health, or related fields preferred
- Candidates with or pursuing advanced degrees (e.g., MSW, MPH, M.Ed.) are strongly encouraged to apply
- Demonstrated experience facilitating programs for middle and high school students, especially around identity, leadership, or social justice
- Strong, working knowledge of minority identities, systemic inequity, and social justice movements
- Familiarity with LEAD STL programming or similar youth development/leadership models is a plus
Full-time, salaried, exempt position. Availability is required for Sunday afternoon program sessions and occasional weekend retreats. Participation in up to two full weeks in June and three days in July for summer immersive trips is preferred but not required.
