The Kirkwood School District is hiring a Guidance Counselor for the 26/27 school year to support Kirkwood High School.
For this position, the school counselor will have a college- and career-focused role, primarily supporting upperclassmen in developing individualized postsecondary plans. The counselor’s primary responsibilities will include four-year academic planning, guidance with standardized testing, support with college applications and essay writing, and assistance with the scholarship and financial aid process. A key goal of this role is to help students identify postsecondary options that are the best social, financial, and academic fit.
The counselor is also expected to demonstrate strong presentation and communication skills, as they will collaborate in delivering junior college information nights, financial aid workshops, and parent information sessions. Additionally, the counselor will use professional communication and interaction with the school community and fulfills professional responsibilities and other duties as assigned.

Salary is based on the Certified Salary Schedule, dependent on relevant education & experience.
