Qualifications: Requires valid Missouri Teaching Certificate in Elementary 1-6.
Position Summary: To create an educational program and environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with students; motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a quality education, in accordance with each student’s ability; establish good relationships with parents and with other staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Teach district approved curriculum and adhere to adopted Board of Education policies.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, staff, and community.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional material and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt curriculum to the needs of each student.
- Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Implement strategies to instruct students at higher levels of learning.
- Use technology to enhance instruction.
- Organize and prioritize work effectively.
- Maintain standards of student behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
- Evaluate students’ academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.
- Identify student needs and make appropriate referrals and develop strategies for individualized education plans.
- Give and follow written and oral instructions.
- Work independently.
- Maintain strict confidentiality.
- Other duties may be assigned.
