- Instructional coach plays a vital role in keeping our school community thriving academically. This leader ensures that students feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn each day, while also empowering teachers and staff to bring their best selves to the classroom. This role reports directly to the school principal.

KIPP St. Louis currently educates over 2,000 students and at full growth, we will educate nearly 3,600 students and hundreds of alumni. Today, our St. Louis network consists of two middle schools, three elementary schools, and a high school.

On the day-to-day basis, you can look forward to the following:

The Building Administrator substitute oversees all functions at the individual school level, including the following duties:

Key Responsibilities
  • Coach and develop teachers to improve student outcomes through 1:1 support, observation-based feedback, aligned goals, and data-informed instruction.
  • Facilitate interim assessment data cycles.
  • Work with the ASL of Operations to manage and facilitate all elements related to the administration of assessments, including DIBELS, iReady, Curricular-Based Assessments, and MAP.
  • Lead the school with warmth and positivity, creating a welcoming environment for all students and families.
  • Support students by modeling respectful behavior, addressing concerns with care, and celebrating their successes.
  • Ensure safety across the building, while also cultivating a school culture focusing on growth, responsibility, and restorative practices.
  • Communicate openly and kindly with staff, students, and families to keep everyone informed and connected.
  • Carry out necessary administrative tasks, always keeping students at the heart of decisions.
  • Attend before, during, and after school administrative meetings; and participate in professional activities designed to enhance competency.

General working hours 8-4:30pm; may include occasional earlier or later times due to school needs

Additional duties may be assigned

What you bring to the table
  • Administrative credential or current enrollment in an administrative credentialing program required
  • Demonstrated success in an urban school (at least 5 years)
  • An uncompromising belief that all students can learn
  • A relentless work ethic and a high degree of patience to push through difficult challenges
  • The ability and commitment to use data and regular assessment to inform instructional decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team of teachers and administrators
  • Outstanding public speaking and writing skills
  • Technological proficiency and adaptability
  • Excellent organizational skills
