About the role

Provides student education and training to ensure student progress, retention and completion of the Job Corps program leading to quality full-time jobs, higher education or advanced training. Ensures strict confidentiality of sensitive information and integrity of student data.

What you'll do
  • Assist each newly enrolled student to feel welcome and to acclimate to program through structured activities in compliance with PRH.
  • Facilitate Job Corps MyPACE curriculum to ensure students research labor market information for their trades of interest and participate in career exploration and career planning to select a suitable career pathway.
  • Assist students to develop employability skills necessary for job success through instruction in Job Corps Career Success Standards competencies.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage classroom environment and classroom discipline for effective learning.
  • Demonstrate full knowledge of competency-based instruction, computer management instruction, and cooperative-learning techniques.
  • Tailor facilitation to each student by using a variety of instructional approaches in recognition of students’ diverse learning needs and preferences.
  • Provide opportunities for students to demonstrate Career Success Standards in the classroom.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or High School Equivalency required. Associate or Bachelor degree in work-related area preferred.
  • 5 years experience working with youth.
