St Stephen Protomartyr Catholic School is seeking a Substitute Teacher. The Substitute Teacher serves as a temporary instructor in the absence of the regular classroom teacher, maintaining a safe, respectful, and faith‑centered learning environment while following the established lesson plans and school policies. The role supports the school’s mission and philosophy by integrating Gospel values into the educational experience.

• Provide instruction according to lesson plans prepared by the regular classroom teacher.
• Maintain classroom order and discipline consistent with school policies and Catholic values.
• Foster a positive and respectful learning environment that reflects the Catholic identity and mission of the school.
• Supervise students in the classroom, during transitions, and at other assigned times (e.g., recess, lunch, assemblies).
• Ensure the safety and well‑being of all students.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administrators.
• Leave notes and feedback for the regular teacher summarizing the day’s activities and any issues that arose.
• Model Christian values and professionalism in behavior, attitude, and communication.

• Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Education or related field preferred.
• Valid teaching certificate/license preferred (state certification or diocesan substitute permit).
• Experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred.
• Understanding of and commitment to the mission of Catholic education.
• Ability to adapt to various classroom environments and grade levels.
• Strong communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
