As we prepare for a strong launch, Friendly Academy is seeking a teacher assistant to support both student learning and classroom success. The teacher assistant will work closely with the lead teacher to provide instructional and behavioral support, helping to implement lesson plans, manage classroom activities, and ensure that all students receive the individualized attention they need to thrive. This role is essential in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment while building strong relationships with students and families to support engagement and academic success.

Student Support
- Provide small group and one-on-one instruction under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
- Assist students with academic tasks, assignments, and classroom activities.
- Provide support to students with disabilities and those with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) by assisting with the implementation of accommodations and modifications as directed by educators and specialists.
- Reinforce positive student behavior and social skills development.
Classroom Assistance
- Help maintain an engaging and organized classroom environment.
- Support teachers with lesson preparation, classroom materials, and instructional activities.
- Assist in implementing classroom management strategies.
- Assist in delivering small group interventions and/or enrichment by providing targeted support to students and support with class coverage as needed
Supervision & Safety
- Monitor students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other non-classroom activities.
- Ensure students are following school expectations and routines.
- Support student safety and well-being throughout the school day.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and administrators to meet student needs.
- Communicate regularly with teachers and staff about student progress and challenges.
- Foster positive relationships with students and families.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- A passion for working with students and a belief in their ability to succeed.
- Associate’s degree or 60 college credit hours (preferred).
