Job Summary

The Resource Teacher provides academic support to students with diverse learning needs, working collaboratively with classroom teachers, parents, and administration to help all students reach their full potential. The role involves delivering individualized or small-group instruction, developing intervention plans, and upholding the values and mission of Catholic education.

Job Responsibilities

Assess student learning needs and provide targeted academic interventions in reading, math, and/or writing.

Collaborate with classroom teachers to differentiate instruction and support inclusive learning environments.

Create and implement individualized learning plans (ILPs) or accommodation plans as needed.

Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of interventions and outcomes.

Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, and administrators regarding student growth and goals.

Provide push-in and pull-out support depending on student needs.

Assist with testing accommodations and standardized assessments as applicable.

Participate in student support team (SST) or response to intervention (RTI) processes.

Model and integrate Catholic values into all aspects of instruction and student interaction.

Maintain confidentiality and comply with school and diocesan policies, including Safe Environment requirements.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred.

Valid teaching credential preferred; endorsement in special education or learning support is a plus.

Experience working with students with learning differences in a school setting.

Practicing Catholic preferred; must support the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church.

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Familiarity with intervention strategies, learning assessments, and progress monitoring tools.

Completion of diocesan Safe Environment training and background check required.
