Responsibilities- Manages the medical care of patient panel by providing or arranging inpatient hospital care for patients, through regular hospital rounds or by coordinating with hospitalists or other qualified physicians to provide coverage for hospitalized patients in accordance with Medical Staff requirements.
- Collaborates with patients, families, and care team members to ensure excellent patient care outcomes at the designated clinic locations and any other BJC clinical outreach locations as patient care demands.
- Performs and documents medical histories and physicals in the patient medical record as required by hospital medical staff bylaws.
- Provides or arranges for call coverage for clinic patients and inpatient call coverage in a manner acceptable to BJC and in accordance with Medical Staff bylaws, while following all BJC policies and procedures and applicable legal, ethical and professional standards.
- Collaborates and teaches advanced practice providers, support staff, or any care team member involved in the physicians' patient care.
- BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
