Optometrist (Seasonal)

CareSTL is seeking an Optometrist to join our team! The Optometrist provides preventive and therapeutic Optometry services for the patients of CareSTL Health.

• Provide clinical care including routine refraction, assessment of muscle balance, examination and initial evaluation for ocular injury, slit lamp examination, application of tonometry, and routine examination of the fundus; provide after‑hours coverage for urgent health care problems for health center patients on an on‑call basis.
• Participate in the health center’s Performance Improvement program and assist in the formulation and implementation of the health center’s health care plan, especially in optometry protocols.
• Practice evidence‑based medicine and patient‑centered care.
• Proficient in using electronic health records for clinical documentation; order and review labs and radiology and complete all tasks promptly according to organizational policies.
• Maintain the required Optometry Licenses, Certifications, and Credentials that are required.

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Optometry school.
• Board Certified.
• Licensed to practice Optometry in the State of Missouri.

• Effective clinical and communication skills.

• Must have reliable transportation.

• Clinic hours are Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
