Job Summary

The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Geisinger, a national leader in quality, innovation, research and education, is seeking BC/BE oral and maxillofacial surgeons at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. The successful candidates will join a full-scope academic CODA-accredited training OMFS practice with a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care in collaboration with multiple departments in the health system.

Our practice has a special emphasis on maxillofacial trauma, dentoalveolar and implant surgery with in-office sedation, corrective jaw surgery, cleft palate, TMJ and reconstructive surgery. These are fantastic opportunities for new graduates or experienced oral and maxillofacial surgeons to teach and work with residents and participate in research with dedicated faculty time designation.

Qualifications
  • Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) (required) or dual‑degree DMD/DDS, MD
  • Certification/License:
    Doctor of Dental Medicine/Surgery (DMD, DDS) – State of Pennsylvania
  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine – required
Responsibilities
  • Interview patients to obtain information such as symptoms, medical histories, and family histories.
  • Perform and/or interpret diagnostic tests as needed.
  • Diagnose and design a plan of treatment for injuries and/or illness.
  • Prescribe or administer medications.
  • Prepare, maintain, and review records that include patient's histories, examination findings, treatment plans, or outcomes.
  • Work in a clinical and office environment and satisfy all job‑specific obligations in compliance with all organization policies and procedures.
