ResponsibilitiesProvide dental prophylaxis including calculus removal and related oral hygiene to prisoners at assigned Correctional Facility and other dental clinics as assigned. Assist in the operation of the dental clinic, including chair side assisting of dentists. This is a test-designated position (DART). This position has direct contact with and responsibility over prisoners for more than 50% of work time. This position is located 100% within the secure perimeter of a Correctional Facility.
Qualifications- Associate's degree in dental hygiene
- Two years of experience as a dental hygienist
- Licensed as a registered dental hygienist by the Michigan Board of Dentistry

Eligibility and Ethical StandardsApplicants convicted of a felony or misdemeanor are ineligible until satisfactory completion of any sentence imposed, including parole or probation. The Department of Corrections may screen out applicants who have been convicted of a felony in accordance with Public Act 191 of 2017. All employees must meet high ethical standards and report any possible conflict of interest. New hires or returning employees must complete Non-Custody New Employee Training (NCNET) 40 or 80 hours of initial in‑person training based on offender contact level, as well as additional online training.
