Substitute Organist

The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

St Peter Catholic Church, St Charles is seeking a faith-filled, talented, and reliable Substitute Organist/Accompanist to provide musical support for liturgies and rehearsals as needed. The ideal candidate has experience playing for Catholic worship, a strong sense of musicality, and the ability to support congregational singing and enhance the prayerful atmosphere of the Mass.

Serve as organist/accompanist for weekend Masses and other liturgical celebrations as needed.

Accompany choir rehearsals, cantor practices, or special music events when requested.

Collaborate with the music director, cantors, and parish staff to ensure seamless liturgical music planning.

Maintain a prayerful and reverent approach to all liturgical music.

Adapt music selections as needed and provide accompaniment for hymns, psalms, and liturgical responses.

Proficiency in organ and/or piano performance (required)

Experience accompanying choirs, cantors, or liturgical ensembles preferred

Familiarity with Catholic liturgy and hymnody required

Dependable, flexible, and able to adapt to changing schedules

Practicing Catholic preferred
