Position

Description:

We’relooking for aproducer who is passionate about storytelling and creating content that matters to the St. Louis region. This role focuses on execution-encompassing research, writing, interviewing, and producing high-quality stories for both broadcast and digital platforms.

You’llwork on long-formstorieswhile creating short-form content for social accounts like You Tube, Instagram, Facebook, and Tik Tok. Collaboration is key:you’lllead production teams, work with editors and shooters, and partner with community leaders and media outlets to bring stories to life. A curiosity for telling stories that make people feel and emote the need to makeimpactonour region.

The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality stories that align with Nine PBS and Media Collective goals, create content that connects with new audiences and reflects current trends, and execute projects on timewhile collaborating effectively with team members fostering a feedback-driven environment.

The following primary responsibilities are vital to successfully meeting the expectations of this position in an effective and efficient manner.

• Produce compelling stories for digital-first platforms (You Tube, Instagram, Tik Tok and Facebook) and for broadcast programs and specials airing onNine PBS.
• Shoot and edit videos for digital-first platforms (You Tube, Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook) anddirect shooters and editors for broadcast programs and specials airing on Nine PBS.
• Research, report, andwritestories that reflect the voices and issues of the St. Louis region.
• Interview individuals in studio and field settings, ensuring accuracy and context.
• Create short-form edits from long-form projects for social media.
• Develop contentoptimizedfor social media platforms, including providing strong metadata and SEOoptimizedtitles and descriptions.
• Work with the content team to review performance and adapt strategies based oncommunityfeedback and trends.
• Collaborate effortlessly with other media outlets, reporters, freelance talent, community leaders, and organizations, sharingresponsibilitiesto build stories to their full potential.

Secondary Responsibilities: These are additional activities that are expected to be performedwiththis position.

• Engage and attend community events or forums to stay connected to local stories.
• Pitch creative ideas for new projects and social content.
• Support Nine PBS programs and specials when extra help is needed.
