Role OverviewBEPC is seeking a General Engineering & Skilled Trade Project Manager (Construction Manager) to support active capital construction projects at a life sciences campus in St. Louis, MO.
This role will function as part of the local supervisory team, overseeing construction management activities for assigned capital projects. The selected candidate will assume responsibilities mid-project and work closely with engineering, facilities, maintenance, safety, general contractors, and site operations teams.
Experience in brownfield construction within an operating life sciences or regulated manufacturing site is highly desirable.
This position is expected to be on‑site for the duration of the contract. There may be weekend work and potential 24/7 construction activity support during peak phases.
Key Responsibilities Construction Leadership- Drive day‑to‑day construction activities for assigned capital projects
- Execute construction means and methods on site
- Coordinate construction sequencing and scheduling
- Provide input into project scheduling and milestone tracking
- Assume oversight mid‑project and ensure continuity of execution
- Work directly with engineering, GC, facilities, and site operations teams
- Review scope changes and vendor/contractor change orders
- Review construction bids and provide basis for vendor selection
- Coordinate critical lift plans for equipment installations
- Coordinate plant‑wide outages for construction activities
- Support facilities and maintenance teams during project execution
- Ensure alignment between site operations and project delivery model
- Interact cross‑functionally to maintain site and departmental responsibilities
- Drive and support site safety initiatives
- Develop and enforce Build Clean Protocols
- Support and provide training on site safety requirements
- Ensure adherence to construction safety standards and best practices
- 10+ years of construction management experience (preferred)
- Strong experience managing capital construction projects
- Experience working in operating industrial or life science environments
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Strong safety culture and enforcement mindset
- Ability to manage mid‑project transitions effectively
- Ability to work onsite with potential extended hours and weekend support
- Brownfield construction in an operating life science or regulated facility
- Experience coordinating construction within active manufacturing environments
- Experience managing complex commissioning and multi‑stage construction scopes
- Senior‑level construction professional
- Strong communicator and decision‑maker

- Comfortable managing contractors in active operational environments
- Able to work independently while reporting to a project manager
