Job Description: Promote and enforce a safe work environment and safe work practices for all trade contractors and the overall construction site. Supervise and coordinate various contractors to ensure their contracts are fulfilled on schedule, in accordance with plans and specifications, while ensuring a quality product for the owner.
Responsibilities- Enforce corporate safety policies on the jobsite, providing key responsibility for safety compliance in the field.
- Implement proactive pre-task safety planning for all work activities.
- Supervise, coordinate and sequence contractors’ work.
- Monitor performance and coordinate work to maintain productivity of trades, ensuring adequate manpower for work in place.
- Develop and maintain complete and detailed project schedule and manage work in accordance with the schedule.
- Coordinate and track material deliveries.
- Develop site logistics plans for entire project to maximize productivity.
- Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by enforcing contract requirements and limiting field changes.
- Assist with development of work scopes and front end documents.
- Communicate effectively with the Project Manager.
- Effectively resolve conflicts and disputes to minimize delays and claims in a timely manner.
- Advanced knowledge in construction principles, practices and methods, performance standards, environmental regulations, workplace safety.
- Advanced knowledge of regulations, codes, standards, and best practices.
- Advanced ability to navigate, read and verify project drawings, specifications and submittals, with an understanding of architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
- Strong negotiation skills to resolve field issues with subcontractor, design team and/or owner.
- Strong ability to effectively communicate with all members of the team, and professionally handle conflicts and confrontations.
- Minimum 15 years experience in the construction industry including complex projects greater than $50 million.
- Intermediate skills in Bluebeam, Prolog, Box, P6, Navisworks.
- Basic knowledge of document control process; including processes related to drawing management, RFIs, submittals, issue tracking, punch list, commissioning & turnover.
- 4-year technical/engineering degree or equivalent experience.
- Local experience and contractor knowledge preferred.
- Ability to manage risk aspects of the project.
- OSHA 30-hour certification.
