Overview
• Support planning and coordination of a program and its activities.
• Ensure individual needs of participants are met within program guidelines.
• Utilize sound judgment and discretionary skills in accordance with the Gateway Region YMCA policies.
• Maintain positive relationships with many diverse people including staff, parents, volunteers and program site administration and demonstrate strong public relation skills.
• Ensure YMCA policies and procedures are followed at all times.
• Maintain an environment that ensures participant’s safety and well-being.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
• Works with director to determine current needs for program.
• Ensure implementation of policies and procedures.
• Maintain budget and track expenditures/transactions.
• Schedule and organize meetings/events and maintain agenda.
• Ensure ADA compliance with federal, state, local and YMCA regulations.
• Ensure individual needs of the participants are met and supported while remaining within the approved program parameters.
• Implement modifications and adaptations to approved goals as needed.
• Ensure appropriate programming/support is provided in a 1:1 client ratio.
• Accurate, timely completion of paperwork required by funders and YMCA.
• Provide opportunities to build self-help and independent skills.
• Maintain confidentiality and accurately prepare and provide proper records, documentation and files.
• Communicate professionally and accurately with YMCA staff, participants and families.
• Complete and maintain all required certifications.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
- High School/GED/University completion in field or related field (based on position)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- One to two years related experience preferred
- Ability to use typical business software and office equipment
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications
