Overview

We are seeking a Supply Chain Manager to architect and operate the raw material supply network behind our next-generation pet food ingredients. This role is central to scaling a cold-chain-dependent sourcing and distribution model that serves both global pet food brands and high-growth innovators.

You will take ownership of supplier strategy from the ground up—identifying partners, negotiating pricing, managing performance, and ensuring long-term reliability. As the business ramps from launch to nine-figure revenue, you ll help build the systems, processes, and cross-functional alignment needed to move ingredients efficiently from origin to customer while preserving traceability, quality, and speed.

This position works closely with operations, manufacturing, quality, R&D, engineering, and finance to ensure supply chain decisions support both near-term execution and long-term growth.

Core Responsibilities Supply Chain Strategy & Execution
  • Develop and evolve procurement and supplier management frameworks in partnership with operations leadership and the CEO.

  • Build and manage supplier sourcing, qualification, pricing, and retention programs to support rapid scaling.

  • Ensure seamless integration between procurement, manufacturing, and logistics to minimize delays and protect product quality.

  • Maintain cold-chain integrity from collection through final delivery, in compliance with FDA seafood requirements.

Operations & Leadership
  • Provide leadership and oversight to a broad operations organization, including supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, and quality teams.

  • Serve as a senior operational leader responsible for more than 100 contracted fishers.

  • Ensure safe working conditions for logistics and supply chain personnel operating both in the field and within facilities.

  • Plan and oversee end-to-end processes across sourcing, receiving, storage, shipping, and distribution.

Systems & Process Development
  • Lead or support ERP implementation and optimization to enable traceability, inventory accuracy, shipping coordination, and invoicing.

  • Support sales and operations planning (S&OP) to balance supply, demand, and capacity.

  • Build processes that support inventory control, working capital efficiency, and demand variability.

Finance, Growth & Partnerships
  • Partner with the CEO on fundraising initiatives and strategic projects.

  • Evaluate and roadmap new ingredient opportunities with high commercial potential.

  • Engage periodically with government agencies, mission-aligned funders, and strategic partners.

Performance & Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor supply chain performance, costs, and service levels to support both margin and growth objectives.

  • Drive continuous improvement across procurement, logistics, and cold-chain operations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally within a fast-paced food or beverage manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated experience with Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).

  • Background in supply and demand optimization within manufacturing or processing operations preferred.

  • Experience with inventory modeling, working capital management, and demand planning.

  • Familiarity with managing seasonality and demand fluctuations is a plus.

  • Strong Excel skills; experience implementing or working within ERP systems preferred.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and presentation skills.

  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage complex, interdependent processes.

  • Comfortable working independently in a self-directed environment and learning complex systems from existing documentation.

  • Proven ability to manage recurring, detail-intensive workflows with accuracy and consistency.
