The L&D Business Partner (LDBP) is a strategic partner for assigned regions, national markets, and/or corporate functions, supporting the translation of business needs into practical learning solutions that support performance, culture, and engagement. The LDBP partners with Regional Learning & Development Managers (LDMs), Corporate Functions, and business leaders to:
- Align development priorities to national learning frameworks and organizational priorities
- Connect stakeholders to national programs, role-based curriculums, and competency plans
- Ensure learning initiatives have clear scope, plans, and measures of success
The position will report to the Sr. LDBP and will partner closely with the Regional Learning & Development Manager, Craft Training Instructors, and key stakeholders. This role requires travel to jobsites across the country as well as national meetings and training events. Expected travel for this role is 20%–50% of the time.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Partnerships & Intake
- Serve as primary L&D partner for assigned regions, national markets, and functions, building trusted relationships with regional and corporate leaders.
- Support the implementation of Partner and Craft Learning Frameworks with LDMs and confirm annual priorities.
- Use a standard intake/needs assessment to scope and prioritize learning requests.
- Frameworks, Curriculums & Competencies
- Help stakeholders understand how development connects to Partner and Craft Learning Frameworks.
- Work with LDMs and SMEs to identify, design, and develop competency plans for targeted roles, as needed.
- Support role-based curriculums content design and deployment for identified critical roles.
- Programs, Initiatives & Pathways
- Connect regions/functions to relevant national programs and capital initiatives.
- Share clear implementation information (audience, schedule, resources) with LDMs and LDBP peers.
- Help organize programs and courses into simple, role-based learning pathways.
- Measurement & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with regional, national, and corporate teams to identify meaningful success measures.
- Use reports and dashboards to monitor participation and impact; share insights and recommendations.
- Capture and share lessons learned from pilots and implementations.

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business, or related field required.
- Advanced degree or L&D/OD/Change Management certifications a plus.
- 5+ years in Learning & Development, Organizational Development, HR Business Partnering, or related field.
- Experience supporting multiple stakeholders or regions and aligning learning to business strategy.
- Strong consulting, facilitation, and relationship-building skills; able to influence without direct authority.
- Ability to translate business needs into learning solutions and connect programs, frameworks, and systems.
- Comfortable using data and dashboards to inform recommendations.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; strong project coordination abilities.
- Ability to travel periodically (approximately 20–50%, based on business needs).
