The City of Glendale is seeking a professional individual to join our team to manage social media accounts, produce newsletters and other communications, and assist with various city events. This position also provides a variety of administrative support duties including utility billing, accounts payable, and customer service. You’ll work closely with the City Administrator and other departments to handle both external communications and administrative tasks.
The ideal candidate will have experience producing a wide range of content for social media platforms, websites, and email/print newsletters and will be comfortable using Canva, Adobe or other graphic design tools. Experience with short-form video is a plus, as well as the ability to handle data entry, accounts payable and other office support duties. He/she will also be well-organized, flexible, and able to meet deadlines efficiently while also possessing enthusiasm for community events and engagement.
Computer literacy is essential. The position works under the supervision of the City Administrator and Community Engagement Officer.
A bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, political science, or communications is preferred, but not required. Experience/education in lieu of education will be strongly considered. Must possess a valid driver’s license. This is a part-time position with an hourly rate of $21.20. Candidates are encouraged to review the complete job description before applying.
