Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Saint Louis, Missouri. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, and supporting the organization's accounting functions. This position is ideal for professionals with strong analytical skills and experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.

Responsibilities:

- Process and oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions to maintain accurate financial records.

- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure proper alignment of financial statements.

- Manage general ledger accounts and review entries for accuracy and compliance.

- Prepare and post journal entries to support month-end and year-end closing processes.

- Assist with month-end close activities, ensuring all financial deadlines are met.

- Utilize accounting software such as Net Suite, Oracle, Quick Books, and SAP to maintain records and generate reports.

- Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and support financial operations.

- Conduct detailed reviews of financial data to identify and address inconsistencies.

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.

- Provide support during audits by organizing and presenting required documentation. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

- Strong knowledge of general ledger and journal entry preparation.

- Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations.

- Familiarity with month-end close procedures and financial reporting.

- Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Net Suite, Oracle, Quick Books, or SAP.

- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.

- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
