Lawrence Group’s St. Louis office seeks a diligent and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, and assisting with various financial reporting tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, exceptional analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
Positionresponsibilities
- Perform general ledger (GL) account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and maintenance of operational management GL accounts.
- Maintain and update records and reports related to profit and loss (P&L), liabilities, and fixed assets (FA).
- Prepare special financial reports as requested by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing activities to ensure timely and accurate employee compensation.
- Manage credit card entry and payment processing to reconcile transactions and maintain compliance with company policies.
- Provide support to the Controller and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for all tax and audit compliance requirements, including gathering necessary documentation and assisting with audit inquiries.
- Daily Cash internal reporting and treasury duties: including but not limited to: posting deposits, positive pay upload to bank portal, ACH and Wire transactions utilizing banking software
- Responsible for all Check Request processing for the company and occasional Accounts payable support for the accounting team.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned based on operational needs.
- 3+ years of professional accounting experience
- Proficient knowledge of accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills with the ability to focus and work effectively.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and client information

- Adaptability to changing priorities, approaches, and deadlines
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or finance
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Microsoft Excel Intermediate to Advanced level skillset
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
This job operates in a professional office environment with a hybrid schedule capability. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
