Senior Accountant – Western Specialty Contractors

Position PurposeThe Senior Accountant ensures operations receive proper training and report on compliance with corporate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Best Practices. The role assists the Accounting Department and Regions in the collection, analysis, and dissemination of profit and loss statements, job cost, and other operating results. The Senior Accountant provides financial oversight and administrative support to Operations in daily, monthly, and annual operations and processes.
This is an on‑site position with travel to branches in the assigned region.
- Provide Operations with training, communication, and monitoring of corporate standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Train new hires in Operations on day‑to‑day financial activities.
- Provide administrative assistance to Operations, such as job scheduling, bid preparation, subcontract documentation and review, and special projects.
- Handle Operations month‑end accounting close, including reconciliation of job cost, G/L accounts, inventory, system reports, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, and journal entries.
- Coordinate with the Corporate Accounting Department on approved accruals.
- Monitor A/R at branch locations and assist in collections.
- Assist in calculation and payment of special checks for employees (layoffs, underpayments).
- Oversee all union master agreements and understand specifications in union bargaining agreements.
- Oversee all union audits and assist external audits by gathering information and meeting with representatives.
- Assist with the preparation of annual business plans and budgets for Operations.
- Assist the Corporate Accounting Department with interim and year‑end audit procedures.
- Assist Operations with branch and region employment issues, EEOC, training, and salary planning.
- Other administrative duties (typing, filing, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree – Accounting/Finance required.
- 5–7 years of experience understanding A/R, A/P, P/R, G/L, and job cost through P & L preparation and analysis.
- Strong PC skills and Microsoft Office; ERP System (Vista) beneficial.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Good follow‑up skills.
- Ability to travel 25‑40%.

US Pay Range: $70,000—$90,000 USD.
