The Manager, Accounting is responsible for monitoring and supervising the daily accounting department activities to ensure a timely, accurate month end closing schedule. Provide problem solving support to accounts payable and accounts receivable. Perform a variety of accounting administration functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Maintain the company’s accounting system in the areas of General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Lease Accounting, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Maintain controls to ensure assets are safeguarded and books are maintained without fraudulent entries.
- Supervise, mentor and develop accounting staff
- Coordinate and administer year-end audit, tax package, and miscellaneous tax reporting and special audits. Review schedules prepared by others as well as prepare various schedules.
- Review and approve journal entries prepared by accounting staff. Prepare various journal entries for month end closing for approval by the Vice President and Controller.
- Review and approve monthly balance sheet reconciliations prepared by accounting staff, including cash, fixed assets, prepaid expense accounts, accrual accounts and various other accounts. Prepare various account reconciliations for approval by the Vice President and Controller.
- Along with other finance staff, prepare and maintain the Excel files used for cost center budgeting. Consolidate the cost center budgets and prepare various analyses of the budget data.
- Complete special projects as directed.

Education Requirements:Bachelor’s degree required with a BA/BS in Accounting
Experience Requirements:5+ years of related accounting experience with 2+ years of progressive management experience. Manufacturing experience is a definite plus.
