Project Accountant

A building enclosure and construction specialist is hiring a Project Accountant to own the financial backbone of some of the company’s largest, most complex construction projects. This role sits at the intersection of operations and finance, managing AIA billing, job cost reporting, cash collection and cost-plus contracts across multiple multimillion-dollar projects while partnering closely with Project Managers and leadership. You will be trusted to run your projects, keep the numbers clean and accurate and act as a financial partner to the field in a fast-growing, privately held construction group.

• Manage AIA and cost-plus billing for 5-6 large construction projects at a time
• Oversee accounts receivable and cash collections
• Prepare and maintain monthly job cost reports and financials
• Track project budgets, billings and profitability
• Compile and analyze GMP and cost-plus project data
• Support expense reporting and project closeouts
• Work directly with Project Managers to obtain billing and cost information
• Maintain confidentiality and financial accuracy across all projects
• Export and analyze data in Excel to support reporting and reconciliations

• 5+ years of construction project accounting experience
• Strong AIA billing experience
• Background in cost-plus and GMP construction projects
• Experience managing multiple multimillion-dollar jobs simultaneously
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Comfortable working in Excel with pivot tables and lookups
• Construction industry experience is required
• Experience with Deltek Computer Ease or similar construction accounting systems preferred
• General ledger and GAAP knowledge preferred
