Job Overview

A growing, well-established company in the St. Louis area is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead its accounting function and bring financial clarity across the business. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and enjoys balancing strategic oversight with daily accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting activities including general ledger, payables, receivables, payroll, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure accurate month-end close and maintain reliable financial data throughout the month.
  • Manage cash flow to support smooth operations and business growth.
  • Collaborate with other departments to manage costs, monitor inventory, and ensure profit margins are maintained.
  • Produce and analyze timely, GAAP-compliant financial statements for leadership, lenders, and the board.
  • Supervise and develop a small accounting team, fostering accountability and growth opportunities.
  • Create and interpret financial statements adhering to GAAP guidelines and provide stakeholders with meaningful performance data.
  • Assist in maintaining strong internal controls and ensure compliance with all accounting, tax, and audit obligations.
  • Oversee payroll processing and support benefits administration in partnership with HR.
    • Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems.
