Our Staff Accountant will be responsible for providing accounting support to the Controller, recording daily and monthly transactional activities while adhering to GAAP and Dema Engineering Co.

This position will report to the Controller. Position title will be commensurate with experience.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger account reconciliations for all types of accounts, including accruals, prepaids, fixed assets and intangibles, to ensure accurate reporting and general ledger reliability
• Prepare monthly journal entries
• Assist with financial statement preparation for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, including consolidations
• Perform variance analysis
• Perform cost accounting analysis, collecting, and analyzing operational cost data. Presenting job cost variances to production planning and operations teams
• Participate in continuous improvement and other special projects
• Assist in the preparation and filing of monthly and quarterly state sales taxes
• Participate in the implementation of the new ERP system for subsidiary companies
• Accounts receivable and payable (backup role)
• Budget preparation
• Year end audit support

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or another related field
• 2-5 years accounting experience
• US GAAP knowledge
• ERP system knowledge, preferably Epicor
• Proficient excel skills, including VLOOKUP’s and Pivot tables
• Confident working independently and using initiative to guide through challenges
• Able to use judgment and independent thinking in the resolution of issues and in interpretation of data and ideas
• Strong integrity and ethics
• Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to balance multiple projects at a time
• Exceptional analytical, problem solving and business acumen skills
