Adult Softball Official

Manage and report result of adult softball games. Act in a polite and courteous manner and represent the Recreation Department and the City of St. Louis Park in the most professional way.

This is a seasonal and part time position, working less than 20 hours per week.

• Enforce the rules of the games.
• Report any major infractions (suspensions or ejections).
• Ensure that the facility is in playable condition.
• Report the scores of each game.
• Work through all participant issues or conflicts.
• Uphold the integrity of the recreational sport/activity and deal directly with any unsportsmanlike conduct.
• Direct set-up and breakdown of facility for specific activity/athletic instruction.
• Work cooperatively with Park and Recreation Department, other facility users, team managers, and players implementing other recreational programs.

• Strong knowledge of the rules and game.
• Ability to effectively resolve conflicts.
• Demonstrated cultural competence and comfort with supporting the city's strategic objectives for racial equity.
