Position Summary:
The Security Officer has primary responsibility to protect people, property, information, and the reputation of Park Nicollet Health Services. This position will represent Park Nicollet Health Services, performing duties in a courteous and professional manner that conveys a positive image of the organization and that fosters cooperation and support with staff, patients, visitors, and external agencies.
This position will respond to a wide variety of routine public service and emergency support calls requiring various problem solving techniques, judgment, verbal de-escalation and appropriate use of force.
This position requires the ability to independently manage work, completing the duties outlined in this job description and other duties as assigned.
ResponsibilitiesWork Schedule: FTE 0.9, 36 hours per week, Overnight security officer position working 12-hour shifts (1800 to 0600) and every other weekend. Three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours per week/72 hours every two weeks) 0.9 FTE position.
Qualifications- Minimum high school graduate or equivalent
- 2 or 4-year degree in Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice or currently in a degree program
- Previous experience in healthcare security
- Previous law enforcement or public safety experience
- Previous customer service
- Military experience as applicable
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills required
- Strong time management and organizational skills required
