Position Summary

The Park Nicollet mission is “to improve health and well-being in partnership with our members, patients and community”. Radiology works to continuously improve the patient and family experience, including a patient partner on our Patient and Family Experience Guidance team. We value our clinician partners, visiting with key clinical practices throughout the year, pro‑actively seeking feedback to improve service. As a Radiology team member, you will be expected to contribute to a culture of partnership, care, and service.

Radiology’s mission is “Outstanding care to patients, through service to clinicians”.

This position has direct authority for daily operations of the unit/department. This includes responsibilities for processes and activities such as hiring, staff development, performance management and evaluations, disciplinary actions, scheduling. Incumbent leads, manages and evaluates aspects of imaging outcomes, staff resources, productivity, improvement projects and interdisciplinary collaboration for imaging work.
Incumbent will work variable shifts, as needed to complete responsibilities and meet the needs of the imaging area. The supervisor is expected to be involved in direct and indirect patient care related activities 10‑20% of the time. This position will assist in identification of goals and has shared responsibility with the Manager or Director for process improvements on the unit/department.
The supervisor serves as a link between team members, upper‑level management, and physicians, regarding policies, protocols, procedures and events. The supervisor is expected to provide direct patient care in their area of modality expertise in accordance with determined departmental business need.
Level II supervisors have responsibility for activities at one or more hospitals and as such, are required to respond 24/7 to clinical, business, patient and operational issues that may arise. While not on‑site, they are required to be available by pager and cell phone to resolve issues. They may delegate call duties to another Radiology supervisor or manager, always assuring there is a leader supporting radiology hospital operations 24/7.

Hospital supervisors are part of the management team responding to union/contract issues and negotiations. In addition, level 2 supervisors lead development and implementation of clinical protocols, interfacing with the Radiologists and other key physicians.

Work Schedule

Variable shifts as required; 24/7 availability via pager and cell phone.

Required Qualifications
  • Completion of a formal radiologic technologist‑training program specific to the modality, approved by the American Medical Association or other approved school.
  • Minimum two years of health care work experience.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) certification.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), pagers, cell phone, computer, fax, scanner, copier, and clinical equipment related to the area of expertise.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record software and other modality‑required software applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of age‑related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and ensure patient safety.
