Job Description

Park Nicollet is looking to hire an Electrodiagnostic Tech to join our Neurology team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.

Position Summary

Regularly performs one or more of the following neurological tests on adult patients (as ordered by a physician).

  • Inpatient and outpatient routine EEGs
  • Ambulatory EEGs
  • Continuous video EEG monitoring
  • Inpatient and outpatient EMGs
Additional Responsibilities
  • Monitor patients on the floor between Epilepsy surgeries.
  • Set up and assist with cortical STIM studies.
  • Set-up and monitor patients during WADA procedures.
  • If trained to do EMG testing, responsible for obtaining standard, as well as advanced nerve conduction recordings in the laboratory setting under the direction of an electrodiagnostic medicine consultant.
  • Responsible for checking and maintaining instruments and keeping them in excellent working condition.
  • Continuously educate, research new techniques, and will instruct junior personnel.
  • Maintain files and records relevant to departmental activities, clean and maintain all equipment, and troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise.
  • Perform EEGs for greater than 50% of FTE will participate equitably in the call rotation.
Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, daytime hours.

Position does participate in EEG call coverage which is 24 hour coverage for 7 consecutive days every 3 weeks. Call coverage is compensated at a premium rate.

Required Qualifications

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:

  • Certification/graduate of accredited END program accredited by the Committee of Allied Health Education.
  • Required registration by AAET and/or ABRET in at least one type of neurological test. This must be obtained within one year of employment date.
MUST HAVE EMG CERTIFICATION! Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Strong clinical and human relations skills.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
  • Proven proficiency in the operation of the following:
    Personal Computer, Telephone, Fax Machine, Photocopier, Printer, all versions of the EEG testing machines and collection devices, along with supporting equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • An associate degree from an accredited college is preferred.
