Position OverviewReporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating the employees under his/her charge to meet and facilitate safety, production, sustainability and quality standards. He/she also oversees the development and training of the team and maintains a harmonious work climate. He/she provides leadership and management of the shift services in order to achieve the company's fundamental strategies.
Accountable for all aspects of plant production performance while ensuring objectives are attained in a cost-effective manner. Drives best practices through the organization and leads process improvement.

- Leads production planning meetings.
- Oversees the production department to ensure effective and efficient operation of equipment and availability of necessary resources.
- Develops and maintain scorecards to monitor performance metrics, analyze production trends and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Plans, implements and monitors production operations to meet scheduled production volume requirements. Executes production department activities to achieve the overall plant production schedule.
- Maintains quality production and minimize waste.
- Ensures compliance with established facility health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and guidelines and other regulations as applicable.
- Promotes a safety-first culture across the production floor by leading safety KPIs and reporting any safety concerns or issues to the immediate supervisor.
- Ensures the maintenance of a clean, healthy and safe work environment by enforcing health and safety programs and emphasizing prevention.
- Oversees and trains supervisors and associates on all department procedures, quality procedures and all related work instructions, safety training and company policies.
- Leverage continuous improvement programs to instill lean manufacturing practices, tools and discipline to ensure plant competitiveness and sustainability.
- Lead and participate in lean manufacturing initiatives to optimize production processes.
- Implement and sustain continuous improvement strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Provides team management (vacation, labor relations, overtime, etc.).
- Manages time collection functions by ensuring all forms and time are approved and submitted by Supervisors in a timely manner for processing.
- Identifies necessary training for his/her employees.
- Maintains and keeps good communication with all stakeholders.
- Promotes a culture of performance and accountability through engagement to enhance and develop talent capability.
- Continually strives to foster a team environment that provides open and honest communication across all levels.

Qualifications and skills:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the same position.
- Training or significant experience in printing (an asset).
- Experience in team management in a union manufacturing environment.
- Solid knowledge of operations, methods, manufacturing practices and continuous improvement.
- Fluent in Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Respect for health and safety principles and company procedures.
- Bilingual (oral and written).
- Autonomous and results oriented.
- Good leadership skills.
