Van‑Am Tool & Engineering is a custom manufacturer located in St. Joseph, MO. We are currently interviewing strong candidates for a variety of positions to join our outstanding team!

• Day Shift: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Tuesday–Thursday – 4 days
• Night Shift: 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM, Monday–Thursday – 4 days ($2.00/hr differential)

Base rate of pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour.

• Prepare and apply powder coatings to metal and other surfaces, ensuring a high‑quality finish.
• Conduct surface preparation through cleaning, masking, and pre‑treatment processes.
• Operate powder coating equipment to apply uniform coatings.
• Inspect coated surfaces to ensure proper quality, thickness, and consistency.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and adhere to safety protocols.

• High school diploma or GED required; 1‑2 years of powder coating or industrial painting experience.
• Technical certifications or experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, familiarity with coating equipment, and ability to interpret work orders.
• Certifications in powder coating or related fields are a plus.

Physical demands include the ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close and color vision for coating inspection. The position is based in a manufacturing environment with exposure to powder coating materials, moving machinery, and noise. Proper safety gear is required at all times.

As a federal government contractor, Van‑Am Tool & Engineering is required to maintain a drug‑free workplace under the Drug‑Free Workplace Act.
