Warehouse Worker and Baler

Job Objective

This position is responsible for operation of the donation center.

• Perform and supervise the sorting of donations.
• Wash and clean incoming donations for sale floor.
• Bale clothing using baling equipment.
• Move materials using a forklift as needed.
• Unload materials and load bales onto truck.
• Maintain the cleanliness and order of the warehouse.

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

Warehouse and forklift operation.

Certifications/Licenses:
Class E operator's license; forklift certification (obtained within 90‑days of employment).

• Ability to communicate effectively with staff members, donors and volunteers.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment including, but not limited to, baler and forklift.
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Volunteers as directed by supervisor.

Speaking, hearing and vision; excellent manual dexterity; lifting, pulling and pushing materials weighing
50 pounds or more; bending, squatting and walking; standing for extended periods of time. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job.

Driving is required; must possess a valid driver's license and be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.

Work is performed in a typical warehouse environment.
