Job Summary /ScopeProvides support and maintenance for City of Saint Joseph end‑user systems and equipment, including but not limited to desktops, laptops, line‑of‑business applications, and the servers they run on.
Responsibilities- Maintain the City of Saint Joseph Technology Infrastructure, including servers, data storage, data protection, network switching, routing, firewall configuration, wireless networks, fuel systems, surveillance systems, door access control, VOIP phone systems, low‑voltage wiring, and power‑management systems.
- Install and maintain the City of Saint Joseph Technology Support Solutions such as hypervisors, data protection, multi‑form authentication, VPN, system imaging, system monitoring and management, password management, video conferencing, website hosting, Office 365, and law‑enforcement vehicle communications.
- Handle end‑user creation and support.
- Ensure proper and consistent documentation of systems and solutions throughout the Technology Services Department.
- Perform end‑user system imaging and deployment.
- Monitor potential risks or opportunities of existing City technologies and strive for continuous improvement.
- Assist with the Emergency Operations Center when activated.
- Answer phones, maintain files, and perform all other related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge,Skills and Abilities

- Ability to understand advanced computer terminology and identify hardware and peripherals.
- Must pass a criminal background check and legal hiring process; position’s responsibilities substantially related to criminal history may lead to disqualification.
Daily use of personal computers, phones, printers, and appropriate tools used in maintenance and repair of computers.
Working Environment/Physical RequirementsMost work performed in a professional office setting, generally sedentary. Some physical labor, moving equipment, pulling lines, etc. Must read printed materials and computer screens, and communicate via email, phone. Must lift at least 50 lbs.
EducationHigh school diploma required. Education or experience equivalent to an associate’s degree or higher in IT.
