Patient Financial Clearance Representative

Overview

This position is a Patient Financial Clearing Representative with Full Time status and Day Shift. Pay: $17.58 - $25.49 per hour. The role requires the highest level of customer service as the first touch in the patient experience and acts as a liaison between Ordering Offices and Mosaic Life Care to obtain patient information and prior authorization details for scheduled services.

It pre-certifies insurance for scheduled procedures and/or tests to expedite reimbursement and avoid authorization penalties. The position reports to the Manager responsible for ensuring all financial records are accurate and in place prior to the patient’s arrival.

• Makes outbound pre-service calls for patients with upcoming Mosaic Lifecare services; maintains a professional and courteous tone and communicates clearly with the patient.
• Reviews patients  estimated out-of-pocket amount due for Clinic and Medical Center services and requests payment over the phone prior to service; communicates any previous balance due from past balances.
• Communicates the Mosaic Lifecare Financial Assistance Policy and assesses need based on patient need determined by the PARO score.
• Discusses any out-of-network and non-covered services with the patient to ensure awareness of out-of-pocket expenses prior to service.
• Reviews and confirms patient insurance eligibility for the date of service; researches any ineligible patients to identify other coverage.

• High School Diploma or Associate’s Degree preferred
• 1-2 years’ experience with pre-access services policies
