Job Title
Scanning Technician
OverviewAs a Scanning Technician, you will be responsible for conducting 3D scans of bolt‑on accessories offered to customers, such as fire extinguishers and toolboxes. You will utilize a turntable and 3D scanning gun to create detailed digital models, which will then be refined for use in assembly manuals and customer renderings.
Responsibilities- Conduct 3D scans of various truck accessories using a turntable and scanning gun.
- Place stickers on objects and operate the turntable to ensure accurate scanning.
- Save and email scanned files for further processing.
- Complete approximately 15–20 scans daily once fully trained.
- Potentially assist with final 3D modeling if the initial scanning backlog is cleared.
- Proficiency in Solid Works.
- Basic understanding of 3D modeling and scanning techniques.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Capability to learn new software quickly.
Skills & Qualifications
- Engineering Technology Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with AutoCAD and MS Office, particularly Outlook.
- Entry‑level position ideal for recent graduates or those seeking to build their resume.
This role is based in a typical manufacturing setting, with the majority of time spent on the manufacturing floor. The employee is a team of one, expected to work independently with minimal supervision. The dress code is casual, consisting of jeans and a polo. Initially, the employee will work the third shift from 9:15 PM to 5:45 AM until additional equipment arrives.
Job Type & LocationContract position based out of Saint Joseph, MO.
Pay and BenefitsPay range: $24.00–$31.00 /hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment.
