Altec is currently recruiting a Safety/Environmental Intern/Co-Op for a one semester commitment, from January-June 2026. The position is located at the Altec Midwest Facility in St. Joseph, MO. Altec provides furnished housing as well as a competitive hourly wage.

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree required
  • A degree in one of the following majors preferred
    :
    • Safety Management
    • Environmental Management
    • Risk Management

• Conducts safety and environmental training and education programs, and demonstrates the use of safety equipment
• Conducts Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s)
• Participate in RCI events related to safety and environmental
• Inspects and evaluates workplace environments, equipment, and practices, in order to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations
• Assists in completing regulatory reports for EPA and OSHA compliance
• Assists in incident investigations to identify root causes and corrective actions
• Assists in maintaining and updating emergency response plans and procedures
• Participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives and take part in Kaizen activities
• Other projects and assignments as needed
