Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site role for an Environmental & Process Safety Engineer, located in St. Joseph, MO. The role involves ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations and establishing process safety protocols. Responsibilities include conducting process hazard analyses, risk assessments, and ensuring proper implementation of safety systems. The engineer will also provide technical support for process improvement initiatives and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to maintain safe and effective operational practices.

Qualifications
  • Expertise in Environmental Compliance, Process Safety Management (PSM), and Risk Assessment
  • Proficiency in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP), and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state environmental and safety regulations, including EPA and OSHA standards
  • Experience with technical problem‑solving, project management, and cross‑team collaboration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related field
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification is a plus
  • Proven track record in a manufacturing or chemical environment is preferred
