Qualifications:

40.00 - 45.00, ,The Stepping Stones Group is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher for a public-school position in Kansas City, KS! The Special Education Teacher will be part of our on-site Intensive Behavioral Students Services team and will serve to lead, inspire, and support adolescent students in a self-contained classroom. This position requires a 6-12 grade teaching license, a low or high incident Special Education Endorsement, and experience working with adolescent students with severe profound needs.
What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution6-12 License in good standing from the Kansas State Dept of Education (KSDE) Endorsement in Special ED: low or high incident cert3+ years' experience working as a Special Education Teacher preferred
Understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and behavior management
What You'll DoSupport students with diverse learning and behavioral needs, adapting general education lessons to meet the individual needs of students Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of students with identified special needs, ensuring their academic and developmental success
Monitor student progress, making data-driven adjustments of teaching methods and materials needed to keep students on a successful learning path Manage behaviors by implementing effective behavior support plans that foster positive student outcomes Collaborate with general education teachers, RBTs, therapists, support staff, and families to build an inclusive and supportive learning environment
