CSB+SJU, Seed Co - Community Outreach Coordinator VISTA

The College of St. Benedict and St. John's University (CSB+SJU) Community Outreach VISTA position will support the continued development and capacity-building efforts of the CSB+SJU’s Fleischhacker Center for Ethical Leadership in Action. The Center serves as the hub for community‑engaged learning (CEL) at CSB+SJU and as a collaborative partner to organizations throughout central Minnesota. The VISTA member will strengthen sustainable systems, resources, and partnerships that connect faculty, students, and community partners—especially those serving low‑income populations.

The Community Outreach VISTA supports the development of a Center for Ethical Leadership in Action by building sustainable systems, resources, and partnerships for community‑engaged learning (CEL). The role includes creating handbooks, toolkits, templates, and guidelines that outline best practices for ethical CEL work; developing communication materials and a centralized resource repository; and establishing systems to track activities and partnerships. The VISTA collaborates with faculty to integrate CEL best practices into courses, align academic outcomes with community needs, and facilitate clear communication with partners.

The position also strengthens community partner capacity by helping organizations identify project needs, prepare to host students, adopt sustainable onboarding processes, and use shared communication tools, while gathering feedback to support long‑term, mutually beneficial collaborations.
