The Post‑Surgical Care Unit is a fast‑paced, 30‑bed unit. We provide care for patients who have had different types of surgeries or procedures. We manage many lines, catheters, and drains. Our unit culture is welcoming, encourages learning, promotes teamwork, and focused on delivering high quality care!

The health system comprises three hospitals, an outpatient surgery center, a regional cancer center, rehabilitation centers, two long‑term care residences, home care and hospice services, and 34 affiliate physician practice locations. We provide both inpatient and outpatient medical services throughout Southwest Michigan.

The Graduate Nurse plays a key role in the delivery of caring, competent patient care in conjunction with a mentoring Registered Nurse. Will perform assessments in an ongoing and systematic manner, formulate a goal‑directed plan of care and implement delegated interdependent and independent direct care activities based on skill nayo, clinical training, assessment findings and evaluation of any previous interventions.

Collaborates with mentoring RN on the nursing process, supporting documentation and other items as appropriate. It is expected that Graduate Nurses will successfully obtain certification/licensure from the State of Michigan and transition into a Registered Nurse role within 60 days. For Corewell South, Graduate Nurses will successfully obtain NIHSS certification within 90 days of start date.

• Associate in Nursing
• Bachelor's in Nursing within 5 years
• Graduates from a non‑accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health‑care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
• MI Registered Nurse (RN)
• Successful completion of a competency‑based orientation program
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days
