CO2 Plant Manager (Full Time) - Brandon, MB
As Plant Manager you are accountable for the safe and reliable operation of our Brandon, Manitoba carbon dioxide recovery facility. Responsibilities include the supervision of production employees and contractors; operational performance; meeting reliability, quality, productivity and cost objectives while ensuring adherence to compliance policies and regulations.
Primary Responsibilities
Safety & Environment:
Ensure employee adherence and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, Standard Maintenance Procedures, and Safety Policy requirementsEnsure conformance with applicable governmental regulations and Linde policiesManage the safety work order system, including reporting and retaining of recordsParticipate in audits and complete audit action plan itemsConduct safety meetings and inspections: escalating as required any safety and environmental issuesOperations:
Lead cost reduction and productivity initiativesWork to ensure efficient plant operation by monitoring and achieving key performance indicator (KPI) targetsDevelop, manage and execute capex projects as applicableConduct plant inspectionsManage and escalate as required, equipment failures, production upsets, quality or product delivery issuesCo-ordinate, manage and assist in troubleshooting technical problems related to plant instrumentation, electrical and process equipmentOrganize work to maximize use of personnel, equipment and material resourcesIdentify issues and lead improvement plans in production processes, shift schedules, overtime levels and trainingCommunicate to suppliers, vendors, contractors and stake holders as neededBuild and promote a strong relationship with onsite customersEffectively respond to planned and unplanned operational and plant safety/environmental eventsMaintenance/Reliability:
Manage Linde’s maintenance work order system to schedule routine work, ensure equipment inspections are completed, improve equipment reliability and document activitiesPlan and coordinate facility downtime and arrange outside contractors or other internal resourcesMaintain adequate inventory of production supplies and critical parts to ensure operational continuityPersonnel:
Direct the daily activities of plant staff with respect to safety, reliability, quality, cost control and efficiencyManage employee performance by setting expectations, providing guidance, feedback, and developmentDevelop and maintain an effective, trustworthy and team based work environment all timesProvide leadership and training to production and maintenance staffAdministrative:
Manage fixed, variable and capital expenditures – planning and trackingComplete capital requests and cost transfersCode and approve invoicesAbility to implement cost controlling measuresQualificationsQualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial plant environment is requiredMinimum 3 years of experience in managing and developing employees is preferredPrevious carbon dioxide recovery experience is preferredKnowledge of Process Safety Management standards and procedures governing safe operation of facilities is requiredKnowledge of financial methods and systemsAfterhours support requiredBS or MS in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is preferredProject Management experience is preferredKnowledge / Skills / Abilities:
